Southeast Louisiana Hospital uses the Single Point of Entry (SPOE) system for adult intermediate beds. SPOE coordinates and prioritizes admissions to state facilities as well as transfers from private units to state facilities. You can access SPOE by contacting your local Community Mental Health Center (CMHC).

ADULT - ACUTE CARE
Referrals for acute services are received through local CMHC’s and hospital emergency departments.
DEVELOPMENTAL NEUROPSYCHIATRIC PROGRAM (DNP)
Request an Application for inpatient or outpatient services, via the DNP Intake Coordinator, who can be reached at (504) 504-620-2867.
** If your life is in danger, call 911 immediately and request an OPC (Order of Protective Custody).**
Order of Protective Custody (R.S. 28:53.2A)
Any parish coroner or judge of a court of competent jurisdiction may order a person to be taken into protective custody and transported to a treatment facility or the office of the coroner for immediate examination when a peace officer or other credible person, including but not limited to a spouse, sibling, or parent of that person, executes a statement under private signature specifying that, to the best of his knowledge and belief, the person is mentally ill or suffering from substance abuse and is in need of immediate treatment to protect the person or others from physical harm. |
